26 weeks!

 

Princess Kassie?

 So I don't know why... but I'm already getting the impression baby Kassandra is going to be a princess. I keep getting these weird vibes and dreams about how girly she's going to be. SAVE ME if it's true, lol.

Hats for Baby

High Numbers

 Que feeling guilty. I ate two slices of special balanced 647 bread with a pile of sizzle steak and some mushrooms. No sauce, nothing. My sugar is 135 

 it's supposed to be under 120.

Rainbow Blanket

 It's the little things 

So a baby born after a loss is a rainbow baby. I didn't know when I had Em. With Nathan I sort of felt odd putting him rainbows...but this one is a girl and I found a blanket I'm SUPER excited about 

 It's so soft and amazing, plus I love the muted rainbows. This is coming to the hospital for sure

I had an appointment with my endo doc. She asked me to send in my numbers if they kept going up. They did :/ 

New insulin for before breakfast and a higher dose for before bed.

 Ugh ended up after getting a tooth filled weeks ago needing the same tooth to have a root canal. Not fun!

Tooting my own horn again (cause this shit is HARD). My sugars this week. I don't think I did too bad considering three days of the week were were visiting family and not home. I also learned lack of sleep raises my blood sugar!

Conversation with Nathan about nursing

 This will be long, but it's too funny not to share!

Nathan and I have some pretty interesting conversations

This morning was spurred from his concern on how he was going to do his work with Kassie crying all the time. I explained we would be working towards him working more independently by the time she comes. He said no Daddy can just take care of her. This is what things for interesting.

Me: Nathan mommy will have to feed Kassie for awhile.

Nathan: Why can't daddy just do that.

Me: Well nathan cause Kassie will have to drink mommy's milk which is in my boobs

Nathan: *stares at my face, then my chest, then my face, then my chest, then my face and then my chest*

Me: Nathan do you know how a baby cow get food from her mommy?

Nathan: yes

Me: that bag under her belly is kind of like her boobs. Mommy's boobs are the same thing. Women have boobs so they can make special milk to feed to their babies.

Nathan: oh, but how is she eating from them now?

(cue discussion about umbilical cords)

Wait she's been eating salad?

Me; yes Nathan whatever I eat Kassie is getting what she needs from it to grow.

Nathan: Oh. But wait mommy...won't your milk just come squirting out?

(cue conversation about bras and pads to stop that, lol)

This kid kills me.

Note to we do keep side stepping the "How will Kassie come out of your tummy?" question, lol

Sugar Numbers

Last week my chart was FULL of red cells...taking the insulin has helped with morning fasting numbers for sure...and I'm learning what works and doesn't work for me!

For reference anything green is IN the range they want me to be Don't pay attention to the numbers in parenthesis.

Two more weeks to viability!

Love this new shirt!

 

First insulin jab (21 weeks belly shot)

 I needed to give myself my first ever insulin injection last night. I was chicken and asked my husband to do it. He was all set to do it until I pulled my shirt up for him to do it in my belly area (sidish). He freaked out. He was like "NO WAY I won't want to poke the BABY!". Mind you the needle is like super tiny, it's not going through my many layers of fat! But it totally freaked him out. He did do it eventually.

So today I wore the shirt I have in the picture. There is a "crack" on the skull of the baby. My 11 year old daughter said it's awful cause there is a crack there. I said "what it's just where daddy poked her in the head last night"

He didn't think I was funny

20 weeks and ultrasound!

 Em came with me again. She got to see lots of angels of Kassandra :) It's confirmed she's a girl! 

This was really cool, we got to see her eye lens. I had never seen that before (or remembered I saw it). 

19 weeks - half way!

 Half way there! I will be induced at 39 weeks so it's half way for me! Yay! 

Gestational Diabetes :(

 its official I flunked my three hour sugar test. I flunked ALL of the blood draws. So now starts the world of gestational diabetes. Ugh one more thing to worry about! I already eat practically salt free, now I have to try to cut carbs down too. Ugh. 

18 weeks

18 weeks today! Did the big ultrasound. Will hear final results tomorrow from my OB but I know baby is measuring right on track. Tech was some trouble getting the boy/girl shot but looks like promising it's a girl

Morning sickness go away!

 Today baby has decided she didn't like the Cider Mill donut and we are currently arguing about my coffee. Gonna be a long day. LOL.
